One of the most prolific and successful artists of the Golden Age Illustration, J.C. Leyendecker captivated audiences throughout the first half of the twentieth century. With a signature style that possessed great warmth and imagination, Leyendecker is perhaps best known for his creation of the archetype of the fashionable male with his advertisements for Arrow Collar in the 1910s through the 1920s. These images sold to an eager public the idea of a glamorous lifestyle, the bedrock upon which modern advertising was built. He also was the creator instantly recognizable icons, such as Santa Claus (conceived as a portly, white-haired man clad in red velvet), that are to this day an integral part of the lexicon of society.An important influence on Norman Rockwell, Leyendecker was commissioned to paint more "Saturday Evening Post" covers than any other artist. Leyendecker lived for much of his adult life with Charles Beach, on whom the stylish men in his artwork was modelled, and while he kept his homosexuality hidden from public scrutiny, he nevertheless gathered a strong following in the gay-interest community. Joseph Christian Leyendecker出生于德国。1882年全家移民到美国的芝加哥。他和他弟弟是美国上世纪20年代最著名的商业海报画家。
大量作品是根据真实的模特写生绘制。据说此画家是同志，所以笔下的男人都个个英俊挺拔。就绘画技法来说，经过百年的时间，就现在看来，还是很棒！一代大师。此书最大的遗憾就是很多作品是小图，并紧紧的排在一起。。如果都是大开单幅的就非常完美了。
超级喜欢，画超级美！！！！但是书脊磕了TAT！！！！怎么也是硬皮精装的画册，只用亚马逊的塑料袋装太不科学TAT，别家买书有1、2块那种飞机盒，另付款也行，哪怕像淘宝只拿纸夹板夹一下也管用啊！好在不是太严重，但真心有点不敢买亚马逊的精装书了。
曾经上学时从学校图书馆看到过Leyendecker作品，当时就爱的不得了，现在终于找到画集~
感觉是挑选了一部分经典的 大神的画作还有很多 很好 非常好 好极了
很厚实，虽然运来的时候只有一层泡沫纸夹着，而且完全没有包住，但是边角完全没有缺损，真的很不错^^，内容上有些遗憾有一部分是一页纸排版了很多张画，看上去略小的，不过还是很不错啦，不愧是大神，每张都那么好看w
超级棒我已不知道说什么好……虽然是中国印刷但是图片质量相当不错 很清晰显色也好看……好评……买的时候是300+真的物超所值……
好厚一本，三百多是有点肉痛不过内容很好啊！真心喜欢！就是有些封面图是小图。。哎。。就算价格再高点 能都印上大图就好了。。。
