先说一下自己的水平，本科农学专业，雅思6.5分。这本书到手之后，看了一下，觉得看不懂，真的看不懂，虽然，之前，看过三四本英文原版图书，但是，这边感觉有心无力。于是，在抽屉里放了两个月，没碰。后来，又拿出来，试着动手读写。在班上很闲的时候，没有别人打扰，把心静下来，逐个词，对照着解释，对照着例子，去揣摩，去领悟，根据自己的理解，在旁边标上子感觉满意的汉语翻译。结果，我爱上了这本书。如今，正本书已经看完一遍，每个词都有了出自我手的汉语翻译。另外，这本书的目的读者是美国本土的高中毕业生。

这本书买的时候词汇量只有四千多，看起来很是吃力，就放了近半年。现在词汇量到了七千，雅思考试也考了第一次，因为时间还比较宽裕就决定先不弄考试的来打打基础。这本书看了快10个list了，每个list的单词都不多，但是解释很细致，一般的单词都有读音、词性、英语解释、用法解释还有例句和扩展词汇，讲的东西都是很地道的用法。现在就用一个小本子把单词和释义抄下来，在外面就看这个小本子，在家里就拿着书一条例句一条解释地读，尽量没有去查中文意思。复习单词就用每个list后面的那个小quiz来检测，感觉学下来还是很有收获，毕竟英英解释，希望能够坚持下去。
相比于一般的进口书来说，纸质算很厚实的了，一般的书写不会浸。能够180度展开也是一个优点。

I like this book,it has a easy tone. I get this hoping to increase my vocab level, get easier while reading and achieve a higher score in SAT and TOFEL...
This is my one and only vocabulary book so there is few to compare with.
It loses a star from me cause previous pages fell out as I read by.

里面的词汇很适合中高级的英语学习者。。。。物超所值吧

Cause I've used Merriam Webster Vocabulary Builder first, some of the words in Word smart are the same in VB.But still it interprets each word carefully with short explanation. Best for those guys who want to battle in SAT or GRE.

很系统，需要在背完单词后来看这本书，那就是豁然开朗，而且最后的题目出的不错。只是。。。。。相对verbal advantage 少了故事，少了趣味一点。

首先，打四星是我太欠打，不是因为书本身。
无庸置疑，里面选出的单词都是在词汇填空题会里出现的高频词和热词。解释和例句都较精准，也的确澄清了我之前对几个熟词的错解。但对于我这个中国大脑来说还是拿着巴朗一遍遍刷，拿着单词卡翻来覆去对我的帮助比较大。
＊一是因为大多数热词都比较熟悉，所以看书的态度就不够认真，以至于一些没打过照面的词也稀里糊涂带过去了。
＊二是因为既然把它当书看了，就不会花太多脑细胞在“背”上，产生的效果也就不够好。
＊三是这些热词，高频词总体而言还是对选词填空帮助更大些，覆盖面比较窄。

总之这是一本不错的热词集合，但产生的效果因人而异。推荐给－－－
＊有充分时间反复阅读多变者
＊希望对填空高频词掌握更牢固者

这本书真的很好，非常推荐给想提高英语水平的人。快递很给力，第二天就收到了。

拿到手就翻看了，太喜欢了。外国的教科书从来不会像国内的某些教材故弄玄虚（用很复杂的单词和结构在描述），第一章的介绍他们编写这本书的原因及学好单词的方法。第二章就是1400个单词（至少比红宝书那本托福单词要难），这本书更注重单词的使用，而不仅仅是背；最后几章介绍常用缩写，常见使用错误等

书的质量还是不错的，装帧很细致，纸张也很好，不是一般原版书的环保纸，但是内容方面没有word power made easy好，词汇量也没那本多，这本书完全就是记单词的书，没有给出很多练习和记单词的方法，比较而言，我还是喜欢WPME！
