很喜欢书的内容，看起来高大上

I first read Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre " as a child: I fell in love with Mr. Rochester while wondering just how ugly he really was. Admired Jane while KNOWING I could never be as good, kind, and patient a person as she was. Longed for the scenic hills and thatched cottages of rural England as Jane wandered among them. Thrilled as Jane's goodness was at LAST rewarded.
As a literature teacher, I spent years defending the book "Jane Eyre" against Bronte's sister's "Wuthering Heights," which is universally regarded as much more worthy of serious literary admiration and study.
Now retired and living abroad, I have the privilege of time to indulge my reading, and returned once more to my childhood favorite. At this reading, as an older adult with a much longer perspective, I was still able to admire Bronte's technique....the points of view, the incredibly lush and observant emotional fabric of the narrative, and the sheer perfection of a beloved childhood favorite.
I decided to order this French edition on my Kindle to brush up my French and see how much it resembles the English original. To my surprise and delight, I learned that, yes, the French was clear to me, and, yes, the translation was such that a French native could still enjoy the flavor and atmosphere of the original.
Jane Eyre est la femme que toute femme reve d'etre. Elle est magnifique!.
My daughter is studying scholarship level French and this was a good resource to find. The level of translation is very good.
Hardly a disinterested review. This is my favorite of all novels.
