看了陈建铭的中译本（译林出版社），立刻决定找来原版看，英文版似乎选择不是很多。本书还包含了海莲的另一篇小说《布卢姆斯伯里街的公爵夫人》，69元，感觉有些贵，不过已是能找到的最便宜的版本。
好久不看英文，可一封封短短的信，又有着中译本的对照，很快看完，心里却惦记着，时时还想去翻看。
二十年的书信往来，基本全是围绕着买旧版书、找旧版书这样看起来重复又重复的事情；书，建立起了主人公Helene Hanff和Frank Doel的友谊；海莲不断免费邮寄食品给战时物资困难的Mark &Co 书店的员工，因此通信就从两人发展到所有的书店员工及其家属；员工们以自己的方式报答海莲：集体送书、集资买手工刺绣的爱尔兰桌布等给海莲。于是桌布的刺绣者，也收到了海莲的礼物，因此也加入了通信。海莲的信最好看，率性俏皮。
伦敦、查令十字街84号，是海莲梦寐以求的地方，终因费用等原因没能在弗拉克在世时成行，但最终也促成了本书的问世，也终于圆了海莲的梦，只是书店不在，我们心里，与海莲一样，有着深深的遗憾......
从书信里，看到责任、友谊，看到惺惺相惜的理解和相知，看到淳朴美好的人性。

i have been reading all the time. nice to find the same kind of people around me, all over the world.
After watching the movie I thought this book must about the romance between a bookseller and a college student. But I was totally wrong (the bookseller is married and has two kids). It describes how two people thousands miles away developed friendship from books. The quality they have in common is warmhearted. Helene is such a nice person that mailed hams to the employees in the bookstore. And Frank is definitely a responsible bookseller who always helps consumers to find the book they want and recommend books that he thinks suits his customer.
I love how this book illustrate that w"rest":"hatever how distant people are, the kindness will bring them together. We shall always be sympathetic and generous to share what we have with others, like what Helene did, because a good person always has countless friends."
书是好书。可是这破损，可能问题在别人看来不是那么大……但着实很强心疼啊。买了这么多书终于轮到我了。
买这本书 正是久慕84号的大名 看外国写的书 一定要看原汁原味的 并不是说翻译的不好 看原版的是作者在告诉你 看译版是译作者再告诉你 而且因为内容是书信所以容易看得懂 并能体会到里面文字背后的东西
先买了中文版的，看过后觉得必须买个原版的来看看，很不错。
想要这本书好久了，终于咬咬牙买了一本，虽然价钱不菲~~
选了Virago出版的，收到后发现质量很好，纸质好，字体大小适中，印刷也很清晰，温暖的淡茶色封面，跟书的内容很配
这本除了84 Charing Cross Road之外，还收录了Helene Hanff的另外一部作品，挺值的
真的很喜欢这本书，要收着细细品味~~

爱书的人，总是喜欢爱书的人，还有爱书的人的文字。

书很小很薄，由于是环保纸做的，很轻。大小相当于一张A4纸对折，和你看图片想像的一定不一样。对于一时间冲动想收藏的读者，我个人认为，一般不要买了。我的是1900版本的，对于80元买这样一本书，很不值。但是还是想补一句，对于一本外文原版，如果真的是喜欢84号，想收藏，那就痛苦的买吧。反正，不买是个遗憾，买了是个更大的遗憾。自己体会吧！
