Speaking as a high school AP Physics teacher, this book serves as a supremely useful tool in helping me prepare my students for the AP exam. Not only does it include two high-quality, full-length practice tests, complete with comprehensive explanations, but each chapter of the book includes about a dozen high-quality, AP-style multiple-choice questions AND three or four superb free-response questions. Personally, I'm not that interested in the tutorial sections of the book as any algebra-based college-level textbook is sufficient for reading material and worked examples. That said, the reading sections here are high-quality and concise and can serve as a good quick review for students.

My only minor complaint is that there are no scoring guidelines for the free response questions, so you can't calculate your score on the FR questions or use them to develop strategies to maximize your total point score. Still, this is a minor quibble in a book that is easily the best of the four different AP Physics 1 test prep books I've purchased. My ranking of all four AP Physics 1 test prep books I've used:

1. Princeton Review (far and away the best)
2. 5 Steps to a 5 (purely for the two very good practice tests---outside of that it is not great)
3. aplusphysics (awkward format, no practice tests, but still includes some useful AP-style multiple-choice questions)
4, Sterling (Utterly useless--not even a real AP Physics 1 book. I'm pretty sure the high reviews for that book are a result of fraud.)

Great text book!
I bought this book for my son who's in 11th grade.
He didn't have a text book for his class. He loves it! He can finally understand and study properly. He is getting 100 on all his exams ever since. What I like the most is that he didn't like physics before and now it's one of his favorites.

Just what was needed.
