Samual Bjork is the pen name of Norwegian novelist, playwright and singer/songwriter Frode Sander ?ien. The Owl Always Hunts At Night is the second in his Munch and Krüger series, I’m Travelling Alone was the first. Both have been bestsellers across Scandinavia and the rest of Europe.

A Norwegian police detective story about a serial murderer and the chase to solve the mystery is quite a good book. The characters are a little hard to like and I struggled to believe the detectives could function handling their work and their need for copious alcohol and cigarettes. I think the translator had trouble with the language idiom which was stilted
Apart from that, the story moved along well except for some tiresome dialogue in a couple of places. It was fairly easy to spot the murderer but that should not put the reader off.

Not just a suspenseful crime novel. It is many layered, with the main characters showing emotion and introspection into their own lives and admitting failure on many fronts. At the end you realize their "humanness" - and love them and the book because of this!

Like a lot of Scandinavian crime novels, this one is pretty dark, but nonetheless it's a really good read. Am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Had some difficulty getting into this book but once I did, the storyline was excellent. Couldn't find any other books by this author

An absolutely brilliant read. Great characters, a complex plot with many turns that kept me engaged and enthralled throughout. Samuel please get your next novel on the e-shelves as soon as poss. Thanks for this great read.
