The first is a fictional biography of Dr. Spencer Black, from a childhood spent exhuming corpses through his medical training, his travels with carnivals, and the mysterious disappearance at the end of his life. The second book is Black’s magnum opus: The Codex Extinct Animalia, a Gray’s Anatomy for mythological beasts—dragons, centaurs, Pegasus, Cerberus—all rendered in meticulously detailed anatomical illustrations. You need only look at these images to realize they are the work of a madman. The Resurrectionist tells his story.

书本外观、印刷质量都很高，非常满意。购买时看见显示为『1~4个月发货』，但是又很想要，只能就抱着狠狠等待的心情拍了。没想到第二天就发货了，真是大惊喜！
此书内容大概看了一看，还不错。就是幻想生物种类不是特别多，前面大概三分之一到一半的内容是与Dr. Spencer Black生平及其相关，后面才是图。因为是冲着图鉴而来，所以觉得有点遗憾。不过里头有东方的龙（四足），这个让我挺意外。

很有趣的一本书，展现了医学史上的一个小插曲。前半部分结合日记讲述了black医生的生平，后半部分则是医生的解剖笔记。正版，内容充实、图片印刷精美，很满意

不是纯图鉴，内容都是希腊神话中出现的各种怪兽肌肉骨骼图，或人面兽身或兽面人身，直观看到这些不合理结构的合理组合。但是因为图片内容都是臆想手稿，细节和一些结构刻画还是很粗糙的，肌肉和个别骨骼画的很别扭没有美感。但是作为猎奇了解还是不错的，在此基础上结合Evolution in Action: Natural History Through Spectacular Skeletons 这本书，就可以画出精致的虚拟形象。

结合魔幻与科学，带人认识一直憧憬的幻想细节

电子书制作完全不用心，图片扫面质量太差，再也不从亚马逊买电子版了

英文原版，值得研究。有很多古希腊的神，国内是找不出这样的书的，很有趣味
