大家下午好。今天是我们暑假之后的第一次记者会，我非常高兴在这里和老朋友、新朋友再次见面。//
我知道在我们休会的一个半月的时间里，有11个国家的13位新记者加入我们的队伍，我对他们表示热烈欢迎，祝他们在中国任职期间能够愉快顺利。//

Good afternoon. Today, we have the first press conference after the summer holidays, and I am very glad to meet again my old and new friends here.//
I am aware that 13 new journalists from 11 countries have joined us over the past one and a half months of holidays. I would like to extend my warm welcome to them and wish them pleasant and smooth days in China.//
Second, I would like to extend my warm welcome to (members of) the joint group of journalists from the Press Group of Americas, who are here auditing our press conference.//
As far as I know, it is your first trip to China and I wish you a pleasant visit here. In particular, I hope that you can give more of your readers a full account of today’s China.
