Python for Kids: A Playful Introduction to Programming

For Kids Aged 10+ (And Their Parents) The code in this book runs on almost anything: Windows, Mac, Linux, even an OLPC laptop or Raspberry Pi! Python is a powerful, expressive programming language that's easy to learn and fun to use! But books about learning to program in Python can be kind of dull, gray, and boring, and that's no fun for anyone. Python for Kids brings Python to life and brings you (and your parents) into the world of programming. The ever-patient Jason R. Briggs will guide you through the basics as you experiment with unique (and often hilarious) example programs that feature ravenous monsters, secret agents, thieving ravens, and more. New terms are defined; code is colored, dissected, and explained; and quirky, full-color illustrations keep things on the lighter side. Chapters end with programming puzzles designed to stretch your brain and strengthen your understanding. By the end of the book you'll have programmed two complete games: a clone of the famous Pong and "Mr. Stick Man Races for the Exit"-a platform game with jumps, animation, and much more. As you strike out on your programming adventure, you'll learn how to: * Use fundamental data structures like lists, tuples, and maps * Organize and reuse your code with functions and modules * Use control structures like loops and conditional statements * Draw shapes and patterns with Python's turtle module * Create games, animations, and other graphical wonders with tkinter Why should serious adults have all the fun? Python for Kids is your ticket into the amazing world of computer programming.

封面没过塑。书角有点卷。不过也算便宜了。

很好,小孩学习编程的好书。

I have the attention span of a goldfish. This book was easy to follow and many of the samples programs are fun. I am almost done with the book which is a clear sign of success. Its a good way to cover the basics.

It's pretty helpful for adults. He teaches you programming logic in a clear way. The only "kids" aspect is the outputs you get on screen. An example would be "Get your Python window to display 'Silly cats act silly' ". If you don't like what he's telling you to get on the screen just type something else. Personally, I found it useful to follow his instructions exactly as written. It's still a good way to teach yourself how to program and take away the skills and apply them to other things.

My 9 year old son LOVES electronics and is trying to learn how to program. He really enjoyed this book. The games were good and he learned some great basic programing ideas. He's now trying to take the games he learned and change them a little using what he learned from the book. He finished the book in about a month. It's a great book for a younger programer starting out.

Bought one for each of my grandchildren. They are using the book in conjunction with the Kano I bought for each of them. They are working their way through the book as I'm writing. Bought one for myself as well. Looking forward to finding the time to start working on it.

A good introduction. My 79 year-old father who's been programming since computers were made of wood has declared it to be "a good introduction" and "it'll let you know if your [son or daughter] are programmers." My 8yo son read bits&pieces of each chapter, and understands the basic gist...so the vocabulary is at the 4th-5th grade reading level, which is nice.
