I bought a few of these "I Can Read!" for my 5yo and she can't get enough of them. She had been working on kindergarten sight words and was reading other books of the sort, so I figured she would jump right into these. For the most part I was right. There were a few words here and there that she would need help with, but for the most part she was reading away. If you little one is doing well on basic sight words they should be able to hit the ground running with these. I would also guess you could use them as an interesting way to practice the sight words.

I got this for my four year old daughter for Christmas. She is in pre-k now and is starting to learn to read in preparation for Kindergarten next year. These books have been very good for her. She and I read them daily and work on sounding out words she knows.

How could I resist a kitten in a tutu for my dancing granddaughter? She loves that she can read this by herself and that it has two of her favorite topics! Win win!

This book is cute but for a first grader. My Kindergartener really struggles with this book. Not the best book for when you are first learning how to read.

Our daughter loves cats and anything to do with dancing so this book was perfect for her. The cat Mia is upset about her tutu being too big, but in the end she dances anyway and forgets about her problems while having fun.
