I have a good taste for the way books are published: their cover, typeface, illustrations, paper. So my review is for these things only because the Pippi Longstocking, this genius Lingren's book does not need my critic, everybody knows it is super for kids.
As for the loving way the story is reproduced by publishers - it is simply great: it looks it is a full encyclopedic collections of Pippi stories, it ends with a moving chapter about the author, the book is colorful, typeface is pleasant, illustrations (both color and b/w - as it should be in a classic children's book) are funny and not without talent.
If you want to have an ideal edition of this children's classic in you little daughter's home library - this publication is perfection itself.

I have a 10 year old daughter who struggles with reading and therefore doesn't enjoy reading. It's difficult to find books she's interested in at a level she can read. I was browsing around Amazon and stumbled upon this book. I had forgotten how much I loved Pippi as a child. My daughter devoured these 3 books, she absolutely loves Pippi. This is a very nice version, hard cover, glossy pages, large print size and nice illustrations. It's perfect for a reluctant reader, the stories are fun and the large text plus illustrations makes this a much easier read. Highly recommended!

I remembered Pippi Longstocking when we were trying to find chapter books for my grand daughters. This is as much fun as I remember when my girls were little. Good size book with fun illustrations. Kids love to get into things and not get in trouble. Pippi is one of those kids. She has fantastic ideas and the book teaches kids to use their imaginations and think outside the box.

Having read and enjoyed these books as a child, I was thrilled to find this collection. I purchased as a Christmas gift for my 8-year-old daughter. It took her a couple of tries to get into the book. The writing is so much more imaginable and fresh than most books geared for that age group that I think it was a bit off-putting for her. I finally read the first chapter out loud to her and then she was hooked. The character Pippi herself looks at the world through her own colored glasses as we enter her screwball endearing world of tall tales with heart and loads of humor. At the same time, she reveals to us the ridiculous rules and habits that we all follow but never question. Pippi encourages the reader to view the everyday mundane around us in an exciting and completely off-beat way.
