Thanks to its distinct historical position and its economic strength of vigorous development, Shanghai as an international cosmopolitan city is sure to develop into an international financial center in the Far East in the near future.\\
The development of Shanghai depends not only on itself but also on the support of the whole country and the investment and cooperation of the world. China’s accession to WTO has provided Shanghai with good opportunities for further development.\\
With over two decades of development and reform, Shanghai has formed a financial system with the Central Bank as the leader and the state commercial banks as the main body.

It gives me great pleasure to attend the Seminar on Diplomacy and Economy and discuss with elites from the economic, business and academic circles how to further strengthen economic diplomacy.//
The seminar is of great significance to carrying out the guideline of diplomacy serving the building of a better-off society in an all-round manner and enhancing the coordination between diplomacy and economy in the new period.//
