We bought several Flaptastic books for our 17 month old and I really like this one because there are different objects of the color on the page you're viewing. So, instead of just getting a picture of grass and open the flap to see the word "green", they've taken it further and have "green" in bold black letters on a green page and beside it are different objects that are green as well. It's pretty smart! My son loves pointing to the different objects and saying, "That" to ask what the object is. He loved the Flaptastic: Sizes and is now starting to really get into this one.
If you're looking for flap books, I also highly recommend the "Who's Hiding" books, especially Who's Hiding? At the Beach: A Lift-the-Flap Book They are a little bit smaller and the flaps are easier to maneuver for small toddler arms. I'd give most of the Flaptastic books 5 stars if they were a little smaller so my son could lift some of the flaps all the way.
My son LOVES all of these books! He enjoys the big bright pictures and most of all being able to lift the flaps. They open in all different directions to keep them thinking. The books are nice and sturdy so I'm not afraid to leave him alone with them like I am with some others that he has already lifted pieces out of. I think these are great books for learning vocabulary. My 1 year old gets very upset if I don't let him get to his bookshelf!
Again just like the Numbers Flaptastic - the colors is wonderful
I haven't used either for my granddaughters age 6 mo and 11 mo. but
will add to my review when I do!!
