Get ready to go on the most amazing, hysterical, and insightful adventure your child can experience! The humor is relentless that both young child and adult can appreciate when reading together. My second grade son can't read these books and so many others fast enough- all are equally so captivating that it's hard to put any book down. This author has struck an amazing chord in my son who is inspired to read more than playing video games!! This may sound like a sales pitch, but can't be farther from the truth... I am in awe of how fun these books have been to read for my son... Our collection continues growing... This was just the tip of the iceberg!!!

Dan Gutman's books are awesome. They are at exactly the right reading level and genuine grade-school humor for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade readers (depending on their skills). My kid is always asking if he can stay up past bedtime to finish reading a book by himself and if I say yes, then I'll often hear him in his room laughing out loud at the jokes. If there is a better, more motivating, book collection for young readers I have not found it.

My 8 year old CONSUMES these books. She loves the Alexia character. Some of the humor is crude and a little mean. I deal with this with my kid by having conversations about avoiding the terms "hate", "crybaby" and "dumbhead" that are found too much in the books. Funny characters and kid-friendly jokes.

My son loves these books. He has read them over and over again. These books have fueled a love for reading that he did not have before. Perfect for the boy that is just starting to read chapter books.

These books contain lots of the kind of silly that kids revel in, yet they avoid being crude. The way to get your child to enjoy reading is to to get him/her to read these books.
