Where do I start? Okay, characters: awesome! Many different personalities that mingled or caused friction with each other so well. I enjoyed the many different emotions each character experienced.
Plot: can you imagine that a mind reader would have trouble with a mystery? Neither could I! But the story was well written and I couldn't guess the culprit until the very last minute. I may have had a better idea if I had slowed down my reading, but I couldn't help it. I had to see what happened next!
Anyways, I'm still getting over the thrill of reading it as I had just turned the last page right before writing this review. So I am still a bit hyped. But I say, this book is most definitely worth reading!
Bought this book for my son who is reading the series. He loved it so much, he finished the book in less than a day. The first five books are about the war amongst the tribes of dragons. This book starts a new saga with a new group of dragons. The original dragons still exist but are not main characters starting in book 6. This book contains a murder mystery and a mysterious voice that calls out to Moon. These books are a good read for late elementary or junior high ages. The focus is dragons so you really have to like dragons to enjoy these books.
Ever have a child that simply hates to read? I have one like that. Because he doesn't ever read for enjoyment, and doesn't enjoy it enough to try when he has to read for school, he struggles with spelling, language, and so many other things.
My son was given book 1 of the Wings of Fire series for Christmas last year. He wasn't interested in reading it, but finally relented when he had a book report due. After all, it was about dragons, it has to better than other books he's read, right? He LOVED it! He loved it so much that he read it a second time, used hard earned money to buy books 1-5. After reading those, he just had to have number 6. He read it in 2 days.
I am so thankful to have finally found a way to get him to read. He is doing better in school since starting to read too.
