书是好书，就是真心贵

I purchased these for my daughter who is learning to read. I thought they would be similar to the BOB books. They are not. With the BOB books she was able to sound out each word and they introduced new letters at the beginning of each book. These books had larger words that were too advanced for a beginning reader and are more suitable for a child that has a good handle on reading already.
I had to help her read many of the larger words in these books so I don't find them a good set for a new beginning reader.

We've been looking for LOTS of leveled readers for my 5 year old, who is fairly resistant to schoolwork and was falling behind in reading. Once he's read a tiny little leveled reader, he remembers the story and so just guesses at the words without even glancing at them, rather than actually trying to read them, so we pretty much need a few ones every day- oof!
These books have cute illustrations and stories (if you can call 5 sentences a story, lol) that are appealing enough to interest my 5 year old. He likes this series!

More importantly, unlike many of the other early reader sets we've looked at, they are appropriately leveled.

I love these books and have since purchased the second set "Level 2". My son, who is in kindergarten loves to read these simple books. It helps him reinforce sight words he learns at school and helps him build fluency when reading. We reread the books often to improve his smoothness and decoding. He does use the pictures to help him, but they are easily covered. I would recommend these to pre-K students that are ready for sentences and kindergarten students ready to start moving up through the levels. Some repeat simple phrases and some use the same word throughout the book. My son likes them and likes to reread them to me on his own. I am a mom and an educator. These books are great for early readers who are ready to build fluency and decoding skills.

We bought this for my daughter as a 3rd birthday gift. She loves books in general and we read at least one book every night. She gets very excited when we read one of these books before bed because they are short and have small words. She's able to "read" by recognizing the patterns and she is so proud when she gets it right She often wants to read the same book 2-3 times in a row. Happy with the purchase!

Side note: Some of the animal characters in the stories have strange names but I don't think it's affecting my daughters ability to understand the storylines.
