"Tom Petrie's insights, wisdom, and vision have guided a generation of key players and decision makers in the energy industry since the 1973 Arab oil embargo. I purchased this book hoping Petrie could put together everything I've read and heard about the US energy sector and he delivered. His experiences clearly have given him the insights needed to make a prediction for what's to come for the US, and I must say I feel good about it.
A very well written, non-partisan account of the oil and gas industry and the future of US energy.
As one who is an amateur in the area addressed by this book, I was impressed with the amount of well-documented, credible information relevant to fossil fuels that I found in this book. The author addresses the exploration for, production, and distribution of fossil fuels from a very realistic point of view. I learned a lot that I had not known before reading the book.
Excellent primer on the current state of the oil business!
The importance of hydrocarbon energy cannot be overstated, and Tom Petrie has given the world easily understood insights into the history, economics, and political backdrop that frame its exploration and value swings. A must read for anyone following oil!
Petrie is one of the foremost oil experts in America. Worth reading especially for future industry investing.
