Plant and Animal life are distinguished and presented as a contributor to the huge realm, the Ocean. Critical Facts like the main island of Japan in the 2011 tsunami was moved eastward by eight feet; whales can pick up sounds over 15,000 miles away and the photosynthesis in the ocean processes up to 90% of the oxygen for the planet presents the book studious to the knowledge of oceanography.
I sent his to my niece who's 11 in a different state so I haven't got to physically see it but she called and said she loved it and takes it to school and reads it during reading time.
This is a great book with more than what I had expected. Kids have a lot to learn in this book.
While marketed as a children's book, I found it an excellent overview of a fascinating subject. As an avid reader in my 60's, I will not have time left to read in-depth primary sources as I have done in my career... Thus, a broad expanse of knowledge satisfies my curiosity - a dip of my toe into the ocean of knowledge - lol! Highly recommended for both text and graphics!
