Egg in the Hole is one of our favorite books. We've been reading it since our baby turned 7 months and she really enjoys it.
Richard Scarry's books are great in general but this one is particularly well recommended. There is an element of playfulness and suspense to it. So it's not boring for a parent to read it over and over.
The book is educational: teaches about the farm animals.
We enjoy it very much. Make it a part of your library!
I first heard about this book from another mother and decided to buy it without checking it out at the library. It turned out to be a cute fun book for my 15 month old daughter. The hole is present from page to page and is part of the story - Henny the hen is searching for her egg that keeps slipping out of her grasp, until the satisfying end. The story is charming and the book is interactive - not always easy to find in board books. I don't mind reading it over and over, and my daughter giggles at the end. i think as she gets older, she will still find it engaging. Also, my book arrived in perfect condition, no warping.
My 8 month old granddaughter loves this! She loves sticking her finger in the little hole and scrunching it around on the soft "chick feathers" as we go through this egg hunt with the mother hen.
It arrived on time in good condition. Cute book for young child. It is durable and fun to look for the lost egg, and be rewarded with the feel of a fuzzy chick. Henny's barnyard friends are funny too.
