Roger Priddy left school at 16 with just one qualification―in art. He went to Berkshire College of Art and Design and trained as an illustrator. His first job in children's books was working with the publisher Peter Usborne, at Usborne Publishing, and then he worked with Peter Kindersley at Dorling Kindersley, where he spent 16 years. Priddy became Creative Director of DK's Children's Division and was Managing Director of the children's mass market publisher Funfax when it was acquired by DK.

In 2000, he created Priddy Books with John Sargent at St Martin's Press to create innovative and imaginative titles for children, from first books for babies through early reference titles for older children. Since then, over 30 million copies of Roger's 200 plus books have sold worldwide, with five of his books―My Big Animal, My Big Truck, Happy Baby Words, Happy Baby Colors and Puppy and Friends―each selling over one million copies. He is also the author of Big Board First 100 Words; Big Board Books Colors, ABC, Numbers; and Bright Baby Noisy Monsters. His creativity has been recognized with numerous industry awards. Priddy lives in London with his wife Zena and their four children.

This is a fantastic book for my transportation-loving child. He is almost 2, and currently obsessed with trucks, tractors, buses, motorcycles, etc. I bought this book (along with a ton of other stuff) for a long plane ride. I had another book about buses, and another about tractors, so I thought that a book all about trucks would be a good addition.

Like other reviewers have noted, though, it is maybe half trucks. The rest are a variety of other vehicles - bus, car, plane, train, boat, etc. It's a great book, but terribly named. It should be named "First 100 Vehicles" or something like that. It worked out really well for us, because my kid loves all vehicles and was excited to see everything in this book. I actually think it's better with a variety of vehicles, but that's not how it's presented to the buyer. It's a fantastic book, but if you're expecting 100 actual trucks, you will be disappointed.

I feel like this book was false advertisement! It only says trucks on the cover, which is all I expected, but then going further into the book, they get into boats and air balloons, like what!? My three year old loves it either way, but I feel as if they shouldn't have said TRUCKS, when it would be including other things.

This book is really nice and well made. The 3 stars are because it was not clear in the description that this is a mini sized book. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, there are some very nice trucks in here but only about half the vehicles in this book are trucks. My three year old son loves the book anyway but the title is quite misleading. The book is well constructed and looks like it will last a long time even with lots of abuse from little hands! The cover is bright (and, by the way, does not look like the photograph posted) and padded and the pages are super thick and bright as well.

I bought this on an impulse for my 2 year old nephew when I saw it on a lightening deal. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews so I could be completely entertained when it arrived.

When it came I decided to open it up to see what it was about. I didn't realize it was going to be a smaller book. (Again, impulse buy) The first page I open to has a "Bomb Squad Truck." Really? Then I started flipping around the pages. I immediately looked at the cover to make sure I got the book I ordered. I then ran to the dictionary to double check the definition of truck. Whoever wrote this book has a really good sense of humor.

Anyway, I'm glad I didn't read the reviews. My nephew loves trucks, I might not have purchased this if I realized how many were not trucks. Well. He freaking loved this book. He wouldn't set it down and insisted on taking it to bed and to nap with it for WEEKS. Even now, months later he was visiting my parents for thanksgiving, and kept asking for "100 trucks" to be read before bed. If you've got a kid who likes trucks and tractors and things of that nature buy this book. The age group this is designed for is probably not as critical as adults. Maybe it will help them keep an open mind about things or teach them about flexibility.

This is a perfect little book for my 2 year old, we own several of the larger board books, but this one he can easily carry around with him and read it when he finds his perfect place to sit. I like that it is slightly padded and soft on the outside and the pages are sturdy cardboard, so it will have lasting power in our home. Easy to throw into a diaper bag or my purse when we are out & about as well.
