作者简介Andrea Beaty is the author of When Giants Come to Play, Iggy Peck, Architect, Rosie Revere, Engineer, Secrets of the Cicada Summer, Attack of the Fluffy Bunnies and Dorko the Magnificent. David Roberts has illustrated many children's books, including Iggy Peck, Architect and Rosie Revere, Engineer. From a young age David had an interest in fashion and often made clothes for his sister's dolls and indeed his sister. So much so that he decided to study fashion design at college. Here he developed a particular interest in hats and made them for family and friends before taking a job with milliner Stephen jones in London. Eventually though he found his true calling of illustration but he always maintained an interest in fashion and it plays a big part of his illustrative style. He continues to make hats when time permits and so he was delighted to work on Madame Chapeau for Andrea Beaty. David was inspired by the creativity of Isabella Blow when creating the look for Madame Chapeau and the book features many of the extraordinary hats that she was photographed wearing. Hats designed by Philip Treacy, Stephen Jones and Elsa Schiaparelli all feature in the book along with some of David's own designs and some classics like the famous Derby worn by Charlie Chaplin and the crumpled top hat worn by mime artist Marcel Marceau.

A good book for children is a good book for anyone. And this is a good book. The illustrations are
beyond charming and imaginative. For those who believe in reading aloud to one's young ones,
this is a perfect fit. The rhymes are smooth and clever, and the vocabulary level will offer moments
for discussion/explanation. If your library doesn't have this book, buy one for them!
Another hit by Andrea Beaty and illustrator David Roberts! Any fans of Iggy Peck, Architect or Rosie Revere, Engineer will instantly love this book. Happy Birthday Madame Chapeau is a tale about the kindness of strangers and friendship. It contains the same whimsy, heart-felt message, and amazing illustrations as all other Andrea Beaty books. Superbly written, Andrea Beaty never disappoints. My 4-year old daughter just loves her books and they are equally fun for the parents to read! Happy Birthday Madame Chapeau is a must have for any library!
One of the best children's books out right now. Fun to read, the kids LOVE it. I've given it several times as gifts, and always hear back from the parents on how much they love it. I wait and wait for this author/illustrator combo to create more books!
The Andrea Beaty books are my absolute favorite. Rosie Revere Engineer is probably now one of my fav children's book ever.. my 3 year old Loves it.. the rhymes and story in general is great.

My 4-year-old loves the other books by this author: Iggy Peck Architect and Rosie Revere Engineer. We've read them so often, she has them memorized. She loves this book just as much.
