Chapters are dedicated to human and aerodynamic factors affecting instrument flight, the flight instruments, attitude instrument flying for airplanes, basic flight maneuvers used in IMC, attitude instrument flying for helicopters, navigation systems, the National Airspace System (NAS), the air traffic control (ATC) system, instrument flight rules (IFR) flight procedures, and IFR emergencies. Clearance shorthand and an integrated instrument lesson guide are also included. This handbook supersedes FAA-H-8081-15A, Instrument Flying Handbook, dated 2007.

This was the best price and shipping speed was (as expected) good from Amazon - BUT that's about all the positive I can say. I have to trash it and wasted the equivalent of 3 grande Lattes from SBux. Read on:
As the title already says: The only color is on the cover! I am a flight instructor that uses these publications for teaching purposes and only ordered this updated version of the Instrument Flying Handbook because of the updated visual representation of modern GPS systems that are inherently colorful, for classroom studies. - BUT NOT SO! This book has a nice shiny cover and then you open it up and everything is in black and white. Furthermore, every second page or so has a different size font, ranging from black, skinny Times New Roman to blurry, grey and bold. It looks like someone printed the free online version from the FAA's website in their backroom/garage on an old printer using only a black cartridge. I usually do not write reviews because a baseline of quality is expected when you order from Amazon - however this book left me very passionate to warn my fellow pilots out there! You get what you pay for - there are other publications here that are well known throughout the industry that deliver in color and cost only a few dollars more but are well worth the money spent. I'll walk to my local flight store now and purchase the real version of this book for twice the price because I need to teach tonight. What a waste...
The contents are black and white, the original color pictures have been altered; Some printing are clear, but some area are smear. The book is not as the same as showing on FAA website.
The book has the info as expected, but the print quality was very poor the letters and word were slightly blurry making reading this book hard on the eyes... gives me a head ache when I try to read it.
POOR quality of black and white prints. As if you chose the "fast draft" settings on the printer "most economical" way of printing.
It should be CLEARLY described that is BLACK & WHITE
