This book was just what we needed to complete or homeschool curriculum collection. I like the spelling lists and the writing exercises.
My daughter loves these books. I bought the 2nd grade book when she completed first grade so that she could get a head start over the summer. I mainly wanted her to work on the math, but she actually enjoys homework (must be from her mother's side :). She continued to work in the book even after school started. She completed the book on her own by the time 2nd grade was over. So when she finished 2nd grade I asked if she wanted a bridge book and she asked for the next grade level. It seems that she has more other work and less time this year, but she did work in it a lot over the summer and as she can during the school year.
The exercises look clear and my daughter has fun with them.
My daughter goes to public school and uses this to suppliment. I help her if she needs help in an area. This is really designed for home school and many people looking at this review will look at it for home school. It seems to follow what my daughter learns in public school. I have not researched homeschooling requirements so I don't want to pretend to be an expert on how it works for home schooling. Furthmore my daughter is gifted so she does not have difficulty working these on her own. These are carried at Barnes & Nobles (different pricing). You may want to look at them there before buying if you are not sure.
I love this book. I only wish the lessons were a bit longer. It teaches your children and keeps them focus with the colorful pictures and stories in it. Overall, it is a great book for homeschooling your children. In another review I uploaded pictures of the book.
I absolutely love the Flash Kids Complete Curriculum by grades. We started using them at the end of 1st grade for my son since we started homeschool and have continued with this series as he is currently in 3rd grade.
I bought this as a summer homeschooling book to keep my daughter learning and growing till fall semester starts. She's enjoyed it and it really can stand alone. Great subjects and very clear and easy to read instructions...
