I absolutely love Xavier Deneux's illustrations and books, so I was a bit disappointed in this one. While the illustrations are nice, the textures are limited to the right side pages only. I'm sure a function of production limitations, but it is still a bit odd when going through the book with my daughter. Why isn't the cat furry, but the dog is? I would recommend Deneux's Colors, Shapes, Numbers and Opposites books over this one.

Unlike Xavier's other books it just didn't seem as visually pleasing. The touch and feel portion isn't really that great either compared to other books. My kid never developed any interest in this book.
