Bought for my 11 year old. He enjoys the "I Survived" series. Historical fiction set in New York city, news boys, immigration, socioeconomic divide, hardship, friendship, family, love and loyalty. Love this book.

This was an absolutely amazing book! It constantly kept me on the edge of my seat and was full of action, emotion, and even humor! It is a historical fiction book with realistic situations due to the time period. It is a world changing story! Read it!

Excellent book for a wide range of audiences. It would appeal to both children and adults who find historical fiction interesting. It would also be an excellent source of supplemental reading for a social studies class. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story.

a part of history no one ever talked about. I live in a community where the children of new immigrants do the banking, and business for their non english speaking parents. Same idea in city of orphans. Well written and very believable
Interesting to note how one had to care for their incarcerated family members taking in food etc

This was an amazing story. It begins a little slow, but it quickly picks up to become the best of the best!
