This time, purple-haired Tera is the star, or tries to be, when she puts herself in charge of a group project and alienates her fellow students with her bossy, know-it-all behavior. Before long, she finds herself alone, with even the multi-eyed Ms. Vortex refusing her an expected gold star. All ends well, though, in a satisfying and simple conclusion. Corey's humor rests on a strong foundation of universal emotion-what Earth child hasn't known, or even occasionally acted like, Tera? Teague's bright pictures are perfect, adding all sorts of wonderfully zany touches (like Tera's father's Save the Planet shirt, showing a glowing orb the same color as his golden skin). All in all, this early reader is out of this world.
