内容简介 Connie is not a child who likes books. So she's not too pleased when she's sent to stay with her eccentric author aunt. But then Connie meets Ruby a book-fairy in the dusty old library. Ruby is in trouble: she has broken fairy-law by trying to take something - a piece of jewellery back to fairyland through the 'gateway' of a fairy-dust-sprinkled book. And now the jewellery has disappeared and Ruby can't get back home! Can Connie help Ruby find the missing jewellery before the doorway to fairyland is closed forever?
作者简介 Gwyneth Rees is half Welsh and half English and was brought up in Scotland. She is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and has worked in various places, including Birmingham and London. The author of MERMAIDS, THE MUM HUNT, MY MUM'S FROM PLANET PLUTO and FAIRY DUST, Gwyneth is now writing full-time. She lives in London with two cats.
编辑推荐 From School Library Journal Grade 2-4–Connie must live in an estate cottage with her Uncle Maurice and Aunt Alice for the summer. Life in the countryside can be very lonely for a young girl. One day while exploring the gardens, Connie climbs in a window of the estate house and discovers that book fairies live in the library. She befriends a fairy named Ruby, and the pair begin a quest to help Ruby locate a ring she lost and return it to its rightful owner, ending Ruby's banishment from fairyland. In the process, Connie reunites members of an estranged family and learns about friendship. This second title from author Gwyneth Rees's Fairies series (published in the UK in 2004) comes alive with this lively reading by British actress Sophie Ward who employs slight vocal pitch changes to reflect different characters. Fairy tale lovers will find this simply charming!–
