作者简介 Pradip Chanda is chairman of MMS India Pvt.Ltd., a strategic management consulting company that focuses on start-ups, turnarounds, and corporate restructuring.

Pradip started his working life with Hindustan Lever Ltd. as a management trainee in 1966. He switched to SmithKline & Beecham in 1969, where he held senior marketing positions in India and the UK.

Pradip changed over to general management when he was invited to take over the job of President and Chief Executive Officer of the ailing Gramophone Co. of India Ltd., better known to the trade and customers alike as HMV, in 1985. The turnaround of HMV's operations is perhaps the most successful such case in India.
