Some people think that young people should spend more of their free time at home with their family instead of entertaining outside. Others disagree. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. During those daily times when academic duties for all practical purposes come to an end, young people tend to see themselves as the masters of their own free time. Now they can do what they really want to do: spend time with family or entertain outside instead. For that matter, parents need to help the youngsters to exercise their freedom in a more balanced way, consciously between family love and entertainment fun.
On the one hand, these days many teenagers spend less of their free time with their family, even though enjoying quality time together is very important for a strong family. It is because the more opportunities the family have for quality time, the stronger emotional interaction is the family. A strong family finds that opportunities since quality time can emerge from quantity time. The chances of quality experiences include eating meals together, talking about the events of the day, sharing joys and defeats, doing household chores together and spending some evenings watching TV. Through doing things like these, yet-to-be-adult sons and daughters send a strong message of family love, which is the overall positive side about juveniles staying more with their family instead of entertaining outside during their free time. A time for all those things seems to be not “necessary “; but, without which, it is “impossible “ to love the family consciously. That is why some people think that teenagers should spend more of their free time at home.
On the other hand, the younger generation may want their fun time outside to engage in enjoyable and amusing activities and get away from the boring daily routine. This is also important because young people are full of energy which, of course, needs to be channeled in positive forms. Adolescents have different possibilities of having entertainment fun, depending on their personal inclinations, their economic situation and their age. For example, shopping in malls or going to parties can be a good form to give them more independence and responsibility to grow up healthily from youth-hood to adulthood. In this respect, they need to do things for fun, such as exploring their own interests, being with friends or just unwinding. It is not about family love, but it is about entertainment fun. When going to extremes, this trend might bring one evident negative effect--the widening generation gap between young people and their parents for lack of quality family time together, which is typical of an emotionally weak family.
In conclusion, there are positive effects about young people who spend their free time for both family love and entertainment fun. Parents need to see to it that youth under their care should live a more balanced life. As well, young people need to be prudent enough in making decisions, for that matter.
