My 8 year old son has made me buy every single book in the series - he has lent them out to almost all of his friends, and he has re-read them. Maybe it's just my kid - but he absolutely loved the way this author wrote. It was a pure connection and I think it's because it's written so it's not a serious book, it's silly - and I can hear my son laughing when he reads it and talking to himself almost like he's put himself into the story talking to the charachters - it's hysterical.!!! I mean that's what the "perfect" book is intended to do - make you feel like you're in the story...
All I can say - is kudo's to the author he did a great job - it was a pleasure to pay you for books that my son had hours and hours of enjoyment over. We really want to establish a love of reading which has been tough to do with him, and this book made it SOOOOOO easy!!!

My reluctant readers are obsessed with this series. I have a sign up list on my door that gets filled with mostly boys who read this in about a day. The age range is 9-12, but many of the students read very below grade level. The illustrations definitely help.
My 7yo son waited "FOREVER" for this to come out. He stayed up late to read the whole book and loved it. :)
These books will get any reluctant reader excited to read. My son LOVES these and the creativity of the author and illustrator are right on for kids. FUN, FUN, FUN. The hardcover books are worth the extra, because the books are thick and it makes the pages easy to open for little readers.
My 7 year old has been looking forward to this book for months! He sat down and read it in a week. This series really jump started his love of reading.
