Splat the Cat: The Name of the Game, a level one book, reminded me a lot of the old Dr. Seuss books based on how the book rhymed. Here's a sample of what I mean:
Splat tripped when he chased Spike.
Splat!
"What a shame," said Splat's little sister
"So sad, too bad. You lost the game!"
The images or graphics are colorful and should entertain any young child.
Recommend.
It's a hit with my grandchildren, ages 2 and 4! They ask me to read it again and again. They love to feel right along with the book's characters and are learning about playing nice together. It's a bit of a tounge twister to read but after reading through it several times, it's getting. Better.
Adorable story. I especially liked how the pages were interactive, so it was easier for my wee spawn to know which part to read next. I've always loved these books, and the kindle addition is that much greater.
This is a terrific book for beginning readers! My daughter who is 6 and in K5 loves reading it to me, her dad, and her brother!! We plan to buy more Splat the Cat books on our Kindle Fire!! :)
Splat never disappoints and my little kiddos just learning to read are loving him. The smile on their faces is awesome whenever I hand them a new one. I love the illustrations and the simple text that draws them in. It's a win-win.
