I had to purchase this to get a refresher on punctution rules. It has been 20 years since I have had to use proper punctuation for writing, and this book is an excellent source for this subject. It has an easy flow from learning the basic sentence structure to writing sentences to writing paragraphs. I was told to get it for the course I am taking that where I am typing up legal documents and was misplacing a few key commas. I now am placing them like I just graduated high school or college. I would even recommend this for someone who might be struggling with grammar style in high school. It is that effective. It is a key tool for someone just entering medical transcription or a similar field.

I have worked through four chapters already and it has been very helpful and very easy to work with. The practice exercises are very helpful and through. It is a great self help tool. I would highly recommend this book to not just help students in their English class but, adults also, so they can review the basics again. It does not hurt to review grammar, especially if someone is going to write a book, take a class online, or just to help themselves progress in life, for example, writing their resume or preparing to get a job.

I did not know that it was this much to learning English. This book takes the parts of speech apart and explains their functions. I am learning more things to fill in what English I already learned. Some of the things I thought I already knew, this book reviews them for me. Excellent for English majors.

I gave this book a rating of 5. I use it and I have lent it to my son who is in college. I is very helpful, and I would recommend it to others whether they are in college or just like writing. Thank you.
