Stan and Jan Berenstain were both born in 1923 in Philadelphia. They didn't know each other as children, but met later at school, at the Philadelphia College of Art. They liked each other right away, and found out that the both enjoyed the same kinds of books, plays, music and art. During World War II, Stan was a medical assistant in the Army, and Jan worked in an airplane factory. When the war was over, they got married and began to work together as artists and writers, primarily drawing cartoons for popular magazines. After having their two sons Leo and Michael, the Berenstains decided to write some funny children's books that their children and other children could read and enjoy. Their first published children's book was called The Big Honey Hunt . It was about a family of bears, who later became known as the "Berenstain Bears".
Over 50 children's books later, Stan and Jan still plan all of their books together -- both write the stories, and both write the pictures. They live outside of Philadelphia in the country.

This book, just like the other Berenstain Bears books is great. The paperback was bound nicely and I was impressed that it came with stickers. It advertises stickers on the cover of the book in the photo, but it didn't list it in the description. It was a pleasant surprise because I hadn't noticed the stickers when I ordered it. I ordered this as a gift and the recipient was very pleased.
Brother and Sister Bear are off to camp when school ends. This story is very cute and designed to reach the eyes, ears, and hearts of youngsters everywhere. Stan and Jan Berenstain wrote this book a rather long time ago. It was one of the first Berenstain Bear Books ever to be published. It was published in 1982. For more than thirty years, The Berenstains have been entertaining children both young and old. My four-year-old collects Berenstain Bear Books. We order all of them off of Amazon. We have a multitude of various titles and I only spent just several dollars to obtain the whole collection. Amazon is the way to go when shopping for just one book or a whole collection of titles. It only makes sense for my family and I to buy the Berenstain Bear Books at just a fraction of the retail value. The Berenstain Bears Go to Camp arrived in great condition just ten days after the order was made. I was surprised at what a fine condition a thirty-year-old, used book arrived in. Good Book, my daughter made me buy every one for her and she reads them to me before bed. The lessons in these books should be mandatory reading for adults when they turn 21, it would make the world a more friendly place.
I used to read these to my friend's little girl. When my twin's were due, that same little girl (by then a teenager) sent me a collection of books. My children loved them all and we read at least two Berenstain Bears stories each and every night. Well now my friend's little girl is all grown up, married and expecting her own baby... what better baby gift than a collection of Berenstain Bears books? They are a very likable family of bears and each book has a little theme and wholesome message. They are great for 2-4 year olds. Amazon let me ship the box directly to their door for FREE! Or I should say that my grand daughter loves this book. One of her favorites and it has to go upstairs with her every night. She has a special place to put it before she goes to bed. That way she has it the next morning.
