This is our family's favorite book! We have read it every day for almost 7 months now and haven't grown tired of it yet. My daughter (just turned 3) even named her favorite doll Emily Brown :-) We bought a second copy because our first one is starting to look very well read. Also, this book has so many great lines that the kids have memorized and help me read. I wish it was easier to find this book because I would be gifting it to every child I know!
Since falling in love with this book we have checked out the rest of the Emily Brown series and a few other books by the author like the How to Train Your Dragon series. All are as clever as this one.
A friend recommended this book to me, and I bought it for my daughter's first birthday. Any parent knows that you must choose carefully what books you buy for your kids, because you'll have to read them 15 jillion times. I have not been disappointed with this one. It still makes me laugh, after dozens of reads, and the illustrations are delightful.
My 3 year old son finds the book to be quite fun, and has stirred his imagination. He references different scenarios while we are playing, and has other funny stories about the different pages which amuses me.
In addition, her other book, Hiccup: The Seasick Viking is a hit around our home.
We checked this book out at the library so many times that I finally decided to just purchase it. My children love it. The story is whimsical and creative. It was a spring board for my children to daydream. It inspired new games and even made them prone to carrying around their own favorite toys. It is a must own book that celebrates childhood and imagination.
This book is AWESOME!!! I love the message and it's a super fun read for me and my daughter.
