This is my first FANCY NANCY book but it definitely won't be the last. It is full of beautiful pictures; shares a lesson in behavior; and best of all, it has great vocabulary words that are explained through the story. Nancy's class is going to the apple orchard to pick apples. Lionel is her "trip buddie" but he gets himself into trouble numerous times. All works out in the end and Nancy gets her Gala Apples for her Dad too. My granddaughters love this book too!
My kindergartner is so excited about reading and she adores Fancy Nancy! She is thrilled with this book and we talk about the consequences of not listening that occur in the story. It is great to find a series of books that motivates her to read all the time!
My daughter loves all things Fancy Nancy, and she loves even more that she can read it herself. I love that she learns new "fancy" words with each new book, and that these early readers aren't as boring as some other ones we've come across. Love it!
This story is like the boy who cried wolf and it teaches a lesson of natural consequences, only it's on a field trip to an apple orchard. We are using this book with our apple themed lesson plan. The story is not too long and the illustrations are good.
My daughter loved this book. The reading level says 1, but seemed just right for her in 1st Grade. She loved reading and learning some new words. She loves learning something new when she reads, and Fancy Nancy is great for that!
