Praise for IMPATIENT OPTIMIST: BILL GATES IN HIS OWN WORDS
"Editor Lisa Rogak...has compiled sound bites from Chairman Bill by topic, from A (acquiring other companies) to W (working with his wife). The result is like eating salted peanuts: Once you start reading, it's hard to stop." - Anne Fisher, CNN Money
"Strategy Driven contributors appreciated the layout of Impatient Optimist, the organization of quotes around meaningful topic areas, the dating of each quote, and Bill Gates' life story timeline provided at the end of the book." - Strategy Driven
Praise for Agate B2's New York Times Best-Selling Series, IN THEIR OWN WORDS:

"A 160-page collection of quotes from the most iconic product pitchman since P.T. Barnum." Ben Popper, The New York Observer BetaBeat blog
"A much better Jobs product is coming soon. It’ll entertain you for hours, and no it is not a Jobs-branded iPad or anything similarly high-tech. It is, friends, an old-fashioned book!" Hillary Reinsberg, Mogulite
"Inspirational reading pleasure." Courtney Boyd Myers, The Next Web
"The kind of book that you read, think about, and then pass on to a friend or colleague...I learned a lot about Jobs’ thinking process." Allen Stern, CenterNetworks

Praise for Lisa Rogak's previous title AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTHINESS:
"A conversational, multiperspective account of his life....This is the first major biography of Colbert and one fans will appreciate." Library Journal
"Ms. Rogak’s method of introducing Colbert the Person and Colbert the Character is near faultless....This biography could have easily been titled The Tale of Two Colberts; however, Colbert’s signature 'truthiness' seems to befit the style and enjoyment Ms. Rogak obviously had writing And Nothing But the Truthiness." New York Journal of Books
"As close to a bio of the man rather than the persona who hosts 'The Colbert Report' that we'll see anytime soon." New York Daily News

原装正版,不错内容不是很全面。
The content is so simple and boring that i have no any interests to continue to read after finished reading the first page ...
Composing a book purely by stringing together quotes from various speeches or publications left me completely unsatisfied. Yes - obviously Bill is a sharp and savvy guy who has some meaningfully things to say. Yes - the book did bring across that point very well.
What I kept asking myself - "OK, why did he say that?". I'd really have loved to see some context for the various quotes. What caused Gates to make them? What did he do after he said them? Did he just make the comments because they are intellectually cool or politically correct, or are they something that reflect his basic character or motivations?
This book is in his own words per say. It appears that the editor took various quotes from Bill Gates from various interviews and then pasted them into the book under different topic headers to make it appear he was commenting on the topic. I suppose that is in his own words but it was not what I was expecting. I was expecting a book written by him for the purpose of explaining about himself by his own hand with his own words for the intent of writing this book.
The book was not what I had expected. I enjoyed many of Bill's "quotes" and underlined quite a few. But I had expected to read more about his life, marriage and children. I am fascinated with Melinda and how marriage changed Bill. Essentially this book is just a compilation of things Bill, and occasionally Melinda, have said and what the topic of what they said is under. Poor excuse for a book. Fortunately Bill is still worthy of underlining!
Plenty of good quotes in this book, but be aware that that's all it is - quotes. Nothing else, really. Very quick read but probably worth it for the price.
