In the history of cars there are some real clunkers that actually made it into production. This book is full of them and the author has a field day making fun of them. Some of them are only sketches, as in the Ford Nucleon, but most are real prototypes that companies waisted money actually building.
My only complaint is that the details about the cars is very limited, usually only a paragraph or two. Otherwise a very funny book.
A quick read, filled with wry & dry humor, and you definitely don't need to be a gearhead to enjoy it. Daft Cars also makes a nice companion book to Naff Motors, Crap Cars & the like.
A must if you are getting more mature and are a gearhead. Lots of memories of those old cars that I grew up with.
These are mostly concept cars, many of which could and were not designed to ever move. The writer bounces all over the place on what type of cars should be in the book. Hates most American and French cars and thinks the only bad car England ever produced was Aston martins. This work could have been done in a weekend.
