These are very short passages with 1-4 comprehension questions for each. I am rating it 5 stars because this is a great resource to use when you are first showing students how a skill may look like on an assessment. There is typically not a lot of "digging" that needs to happen with these stories when answering the comprehension questions. For most questions you are able to go back into the passage and underline/highlight exactly what has helped you answer the question. They're graspable even for your below level readers as well because they're so short. Children aren't exhausted by the time they finish the passage. I will be using these whole group to introduce different comprehension skills, as independent spiral review, and homework.

I liked the overall idea of this book and they worksheets work well for like bell work time; however the stories are VERY short like 4-7 sentences it seems for most and then there are 3 questions for each story and 2 are usually multiple choice--the 3rd varies between one sentence answers, multiple choice, or fill-in-the blank.

Great resource for language arts skills. I like that covers inference, supporting details, and main idea as these seem to be the most difficult skills for students to master. These pages can be done quickly in class followed by discussion, or they serve as manageable homework.

Passages are much too short for 3rd grade and there are only 3 answer choices. Might be better for second or even first grades or for very low performing 3rd grade students. I have taught 3rd grade for 8 years and have only had a few students who would have found this helpful.

It's an easy to use book and the short passages make it easier to "plug" in this activity to a packed daily schedule.
