i purchased this book as a valentine's day gift for my 15 month old. i was looking for a board book (she still sometimes likes to chew her books instead of read them) that had a short, easy to follow storyline, in addition to bright, colorful illustrations. this book fills all those criteria perfectly. the fact that it also goes along with the most recent pooh movie (released in 2011) is icing on the proverbial cake.
that being said, this book isn't for "pooh purists" as there isn't much of a.a. milne's original storyline to be found.
I ordered this book for my 2 year old granddaughter who loves Pooh. It has a short story that is easy to tell and each page has a touchy feely item on it- a mirror , an umbrella, a balloon etc. She loves to "read" it herself and we read it everyday. Small individual story Pooh books are hard to find and this one is really nice.
As always, you cannot go wrong with a Winnie the Pooh book. My baby loves "The Bear in the Red Shirt" and also Eeyore. In this charming hard page book, Eeyore has lost his tail and his friends have all kinds of funny suggestions to get him a new tail. My son loves to play with the book and the book is durable and can stand up to a ten month old's handling. The story is short and simple, and the drawings are colorful. Highly recommended.
My baby loves Pooh and friends, and this is a very simple touch-and-feel board book. On each page, Eeyore is given a different tail by each of the characters, until the last one is a perfect match. Some textures are: knit-sweater type yarn, satin, plastic/latex like a balloon.
This book is okay--great pictures of course. It seems like it is just pictures from the cartoon about when Eeyore loses his tail. The part I don't like are the touch and feel. We have several touch and feel books--this one has the SMALLEST touch parts on each page and not that exciting for my 19 month old son. He wasn't impressed and neither was I.
