This book has beautiful artwork (amazing line drawings) and neat words. But its ideas apply to more than just rocks. There's something in it about the rock search being a very personal thing, and I found that applied as much to househunting as rock hunting. Get it for anyone you love.
Interesting story line, ordered as kindle book and read from IPAD to group of children in co-op. Read reviews that said paperback was small so opted for Kindle version. Pictures more abstract and, as might be expected, hard for group of children to view on Kindle. Story line interesting. Kept children's interest for class time, but not necessary keepsake book that children may want to have re-read. Quite fascinating to read reviewers' comments on Amazing regarding some adult readers who adopted the "rules for finding a rock" to other aspects of their life.

Perfect for any special ceremony involving stones. We attended a first birthday party where everyone was asked to bring a stone and to say some wishes for the baby. We also gave this book.
A very great book. Arrived quickly and in good condition. I personally found some of the illustrations a bit on the creepy side. But ince you get past that and take a look at them as art work, they are hniquely beautiful. This was a present for my friend that is studying to be a geologist, and she said it was her favorite present she had received for Christmas.
