this book made me fall in love with yvon chounaird... i was just a surfer and a skier when i read it and never thought i would ever start rock climbing. this year i started and got to semi lead one of yvon's routes in yosemite.
i have given this book to businessmen and small business owners to help navigate the complexities of running your own business. it taught me so much about my own small business and how not to comprise when it comes to the environment.
thank you yvon for your contribution to sports, business, mothers, the environment and constantly making us think about capitalism, consumerism and environmentalism.

This is one of my favorite business/lifestyle books of all time. Its well planned with the story of Patagonia interspersed with business lessons. Yvon's vision on sustainability, profitability, employee happiness, service (repair), and more is refreshing compared to vision's promoted in other business books. I would highly recommend this book for someone who is an entrepreneur or who cares about the environment or to someone who is just looking to figure out a way to get started in this whole climate change puzzle.

As someone who finds most books in the "business" section of the bookstore pretty unsatisfying (vacuous at best and insufferable at worst), I was pleasantly surprised that this book has *actual content* and is more a call to action for us to be environmentally conscious than an empty book of nothingness that was only written for the sake of being written. Good job Yvon! I'll read this over another Malcolm Gladwell bore any day.

This is a great book, full of wonderful insights into Patagonia's philosophy and business strategies. It is easy to read and full of informational tid-bits throughout. I would absolutely recommend this book to others!

As a product designer and outdoorsman this book is invaluable for influencing the right philosophies in career and everyday life. Super inspiring! you won't stop at the book either, I have been watching videos, researching projects and talking to other people about what Yvon and Patagonia are doing.
