David Turner is a Doctor of Railway Studies at the University of York and National Railway Museum's 'Institute of Railway Studies and Transport History', specialising in Victorian railway management between 1870 and 1914. He is also the author of the TurnipRail railway history blog.

I love trains and I love England, so this is just about predestined to be a hit with me. My only minor quibble is that I wish it had a spiral that would let the book lie open for easier reference at a glance. Wonderful anecdotes and illustrations!
