We first saw this book at baby laptime at our local library and fell in love with it right away. It is simple and the pop-ups are excellent. I read it about 6 times a day to my 14 month old. I wish it was more durable for younger children- I can't leave or read the book in her reach
My daughter received this book as a gift for her first birthday and she LOVES it. The large pop-ups on every other page and brief text keep her interested. This is fairly sturdy for a pop-up book -- so much so that we let her play with this one on her own.
The audio piece on the front cover is incredibly difficult to get to play unless or until you find exactly the right place to click it. In fact, we thought ours didn't work for the first 3 months we had it, but when I purchased a copy of the book for a friend's son, I finally figured out the right spot to push. My daughter loves this book without the sound anyway.
There was more damage to the book than I expected and disappointed
Cute book but disappointed that the squeaker on the cover did not work at all.
We have read Charlie Chick to our granddaughter since she
was 4 months. Now, at 8 months, she continues to insist
on several animated readings per visit . Delightful! We purchased
2 more books for gifts, but we were somewhat disappointed
the new books are smaller and without the front cover
push button "chirp-chirp" sounds. I'm sure the gifts will still
be appreciated as the book is very appealing to infants and toddlers!
