范文:

If we are not the creator, we would have already been forfeited the liberty to shun the things we do not enjoy doing. A bird that perches on the bough or in foliages has to fly far away when the predator is impending even if the bird does not enjoy the leaving. Similarly, no human being has the pure freedom to avoid the things that he or she does not enjoy. I submit that even the creator encounters the same embarrassment.

Under a certain condition, children should do things that they do not enjoy doing. Children are supposed to become socialized so that children are encouraged or even forced to do things they do not enjoy or abhor. If children refuse to obey the rules or regulations established by adults, they will be punished. For instance, children are supposed to enter primary schools no matter whether they like the classroom or not. If they are absent from the classroom learning, parents or teachers will call them bad boys or girls. Gradually they are cultivated. However, children might be less interested in learning than in roaming in the woods or fishing in the river. If parents are not rich enough, children have to do jobs for money when they are schooling. They hate to do jobs but they have to do. Otherwise, how can they live?

Adults are more frequently than children forced to do things they do not enjoy doing. You need not have read Game Theory to know that every individual is subject to the behaviors of others. The world of adults is more interdependent than independent. Morals, ethic, and etiquette all require that people talk, speak, dress, or eat in a manner that not necessarily delights the individuals. For instance, on campus in most Chinese universities or colleges, graduate students are not allowed to wear sandals on campus in hot summer days. Instead, they have to wear “formal” shoes which keep feet from cooling. But students really hate to wear such shoes.

The elderly people have to do things that they do not like to do. They put emphasis more on the benefits of the young people than on their own. Consequently, the old people often sacrifice their own interest to help children and young people. For instance, in my childhood, when my father bought home a piece of bread, my grandpa always pretended to have “eaten”. Then he left the whole bread to my little sister. I knew that grandpa was hungry. In fact at that time everyone was hungry. But the old man had to do things he did not enjoy doing. What he enjoyed was to have more bread. The story that Jesus used one piece of bread to feed the multitudes is nothing but a metaphor.

From childhood to the end of life, who under the sun is totally able to do things he or she enjoys?
