Ferrari: The Legendary Models

Two books in one make this a double delight for car fans! Open this lavish, oversize volume and you'll find two bound-in books: one covers the history and the main stages in the evolution of the legendary Ferrari brand. The other features incredible four-panel, foldout pages presenting 40 of the most emblematic Ferraris of all time. Incredibly rendered, these high-definition images show every last detail of the selected models, which include the 250 GTO (1962), the 275 GTB (1964), 330 P3 (1966), F355 Berlinetta (1994), the 430 Scuderia (2007), and the P540 SuperFast Aperta (2009). Tables contain all the cars' main specifications. It's an irresistible journey through roaring engines, luxury, and fascinating facts.

The format of this book is rather strange. When you first open it you notice that it is actually split into two different volumes. The first volume titled "The History of a Legend" is, as titled, a brief history of Ferrari, both the man and the company. It makes for interesting reading and has quite a few nice historical images included. The second volume is titled "The Legendary Models" and this is where you find the cars, 40 of them. Each car actually gets a 4 page fold out which is rather nice, but makes reading the book a bit awkward. You get a brief history of the car as well as a whole range of technical specifications. My main gripe here is that these aren't photos of actual cars, but rather computer renders of them. If you just glance at them you may not notice, but if you study the cars up close you will be able to tell they aren't real. I suppose that's the price you pay when you make a book covering some of the rarest cars in the world. It would have been difficult to get photos of cars like the Ferrari SP12 EC, a one-off model commissioned by Eric Clapton.

The pictures are pretty good but the book layout is weird.

Great Book ! for Ferrari fans. a real joy to see all these cars. I only had money for a Jag.

Beautiful book, gave as a gift to Ferrari owners, they loved it!!!
