helpwhy my solaris users do not have its own dirctory ?
I create a user but it do not have its own directory in /home in a virtual machine ,and when I create a directory using root in /home ,the prompt is 'operation not applicable'while in other directory the mkdir command works well.

However, you shouldn't do that as race pointed out, /home is an auto mount directory. The home directory for user in Solaris should be created in /export/home
