Responsibilities:
The Open Source Technology Center within the Software and Solutions Group is looking for software engineers to develop innovative Linux software for MeeGo operation system at Zizhu site in Shanghai. MeeGo TV is a critical project for Intel to create and leverage the momentum of the open source MeeGo operation system for TV platform, and to promote Intel SOC (System on Chip) into the connected TV market. As a MeeGo TV developer, you will
1. Develop innovative and comprehensive Linux components on new Intel® platforms for MeeGo TV.
2. Design and implement the middleware framework / infrastructure for MeeGo TV, covering media sub-system (Gstreamer, ffmpeg, media streaming, DLNA), graphics sub-systems (OpenGL/OpenGL ES, 2D/3D, X window), etc.
3. Integrate third-party or open source solutions for MeeGo TV.
4. Optimize MeeGo software for Intel® platforms.
Qualifications:
You should possess a Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering or equivalent and more than three years of relevant experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Excellent computer science knowledge and programming skills.
- Excellent communication skills both in English and Chinese
- Solid design/development experiences in media / graphics middleware on Linux platform. Key areas of interest include: Gstreamer, ffmpeg, media streaming, DLNA, Qt media, graphics engine/driver, OpenGL/OpenGL ES, 2D/3D middleware, X window system, etc.
- Background of software development in connected TV, digital TV, or embedded devices with media playback functionality, will be a good plus.
