Thefollowing appeared in the editorial section of a campus newspaper:
“Becauseoccupancy rates for campus housing fell duringthe last academic year, so did housing revenues. To solve the problem, campus housing officials should reduce thenumber of available housing units, thereby increasing the occupancyrates. Also, to keep students from choosing to live off-campus, housingofficials should lower the rents, thereby increasing demand.”
Discuss how well reasoned . . . etc.
综推
2.图形见附件,其中*代表数字,不记得了,是说做一个调查一组是employees,一组是employ agency(好像),每人发一张图片吧,三种类型,有smile picture,no smile picture,no picture,no picture在两组都是最多的,employees是最多和最少差距最大的。
Editor: Articles in Gardening Magazine often spursales of the plants they describe, particularly among people new togardening. Accordingly, we will nolonger publish articles or accept advertisements praising the beauty of rarewildflowers. (plan) Most such plants sold togardeners have been difficult to propagate under cultivation, so plant sellersoften collect them in the wild.(reason,根据) Our new policy is part of our efforts to haltthis yearly plundering of our native plant populations.Whichof the following, if true, casts the most doubt on the wisdom of the magazine'snew policy as a way of pursuing the intended effect?
A.When people new to gardening buy plants, they often fail to take adequate careof the plants that they buy and become discouraged from buying those varietiesagain.
B.Plant sellers who sell rare wildflowers have no reasonably inexpensivealternative way to offer their wares directly to new gardeners.
C.The demand for rare wildflowers rarely exceeds the number of such plants thatcan be collected in the wild by plant sellers.
D.The propagation of rare wildflowers often depends on the plants' interactionwith other organisms in their environment, such as plants that create suitablesoil conditions or insects and birds that disperse seeds.
E.Revenues from sales of plants collected in the wild are supporting thediscovery of new low-cost techniques enabling rare wildflowers to be readilypropagated in nurseries.
