除了和四级相同的一些视听反向原则(即听到的单词和短语要慎选)和同义词替换原则(即准确答案经常是原文的同义词语的替换)之外，六级的小对话在出题方向上出现过一些明显的特点，总结如下：
教授要求严格：例如布置作业很多、考试不容易过，上课要求准时、讲座难度高等等;
