We bought this for my daughter's first Birthday. We knew she was too young for it, but I had been seeing it for a while in bookstores and I really wanted to make sure we had it in case it went out of print. at 1, she was still to destructive to really let her play with it. Now at 16 months I bring it out on occasion for supervised play. She LOVES it and is really good and not destroying anything. her favorite part is the pull out laptop. Sometimes when I am working on my laptop, we will get this out and she will open the laptop and "type" on it with both hands, just like mom, and say "Click Click" and "Mommy!" She loves to look at pictures and name items in the book like "brush" and "comb" and "Phone" and "Clock." She loves the keys on the front and thinks the "Sock" on the back is funny. She also recognizes items like "Cookie" and "Mouse" and "Shoe" "Book" and "Apple" I think it can only get more interesting with age, as she realizes that she has her own replica of mom's purse- and notices items like the wallet, credit card, and iPod (just like mom!) Right now it's great for quiet play and I can see this coming in handy at church or in a Dr. office when you want her to sit still and entertain herself without something that makes noise. I recommend this to anyone!
P.S. I DO remove the wipe off marker from the tote. She's WAY to young to have that!
Who knows what your child will like? I got this for an 8 hour car trip. My daughter didnt play with it too long. It is all cardboard and some items come out and there are some flaps. She plays with her soft books more. There are not a lot of soft play books out there so I thought I would try this.
I thought my 1-1/2 year old daughter would love this but she flipped through all the little cards once and I have not been able to get her interested in it again. Quality is okay. I think if she was interested in it she probably would have tore most of the things off of it by now. Great idea, wish it was more appealing to my daughter.
Shipping was fast. The book was very used while it was listed as NEW. The laptop and the credit card is missing. Lots of bend and wear on the book. If it was new with no missing parts it is a awesome book.
